Warehouse floor markings and safety lines.

Lines people can see, on a floor prepared so they stay put.

Parking garage with a grey coated floor and yellow and black column markings

The short answer

Floor markings wear off when they are painted on bare or dirty concrete. Lines in polyurethane over a prepared surface hold up to traffic and keep their colour.

Where lines go

Pedestrian walkways, forklift aisles, loading bays, storage zones, around columns and machinery, and on barriers and kerbs.

Colours people notice

Yellow and black is the usual choice for barriers and hazards. We coated concrete barriers and walkway lines in yellow and black polyurethane.

Preparation first

The surface is cleaned and prepared so the lines bond. On a coated floor, lines go on as part of the system.

Questions

Good to know.

Why do painted floor lines wear off?

Usually because they were painted onto bare or dirty concrete without preparation, and traffic wears them away.

Can lines go on an existing coated floor?

Often, yes, if the coating is sound and is prepared first.
