Home/Who we work with

For architects, engineers and quantity surveyors.

Floor and lining systems named and built up in writing, matched to the traffic, the chemicals and the conditions on site.

Concrete slab prepared for coating

Specifiers

What gets in the way.

The problems we hear most, and the ones we plan the job around.

  1. Specs that say "epoxy floor" and nothing more
  2. Substrate condition unknown at tender stage
  3. Systems that suit the brochure but not the chemicals on site
  4. Finishes that yellow in sunlight

How we work with you

No surprises.

Site visit, written specification and quote, then the work.

  1. A written specification. After the site visit you get a written specification and quote that names the system and its build-up.
  2. Three steps in every build-up. Surface prep, a primer system and a top layer, each specified for the site. The table below shows the build-up of each system.
  3. Chosen for the conditions. Traffic, chemicals and their concentration and temperature, hot wash-downs, sunlight and how long the area can close all decide the system.
  4. The substrate decides. Surface preparation is critical to coating performance. The final system depends on the condition and suitability of the substrate at the time of application.
  5. Material warranty. Coating materials are warranted against manufacturing defects in line with the manufacturer's written warranty and product data sheet.

System build-ups

Three steps, written down.

Each system as we build it. The final specification follows the site visit.

SystemSurface prepPrimer systemTop layer
Epoxy flooringDiamond ground to open the surface. Cracks filled.Epoxy primer soaks in and seals the concrete.Body coat and topcoat. Epoxy at the thickness the floor needs, from 1 mm. A gloss or satin finish that is easy to keep clean.
Polyurethane coatingsGround and repaired so the coating bonds.Seals the concrete and anchors the system.Base coat and UV-stable topcoat. Polyurethane build coat for colour and body. Holds its colour in sunlight.
PU screed flooringDiamond ground to open the surface. Cracks filled.Bonds the screed to the slab.PU screed and seal coat. Trowelled polyurethane-cement. We laid 6 mm at a meat plant. Closes the surface for easy wash-downs.
MMA coatingsDiamond ground to open the surface. Cracks filled.Fast-curing primer that seals the concrete.Body coat and topcoat. MMA build coat that cures quickly, so downtime stays short. A sealed, easy-clean finish.
Acid liningsRepaired and prepared. Sound concrete only.Bonds the lining to the substrate.Acid-resistant lining and sealing coat. Chosen for your chemicals and temperatures. Closes the surface against splashes and spills.
Decorative cement finishesA sound, level base with cracks repaired.Bonds the finish to the base.Decorative cement and sealer. Thin, hand-trowelled coats for a stone-like look. Protects the surface against stains and wear.

What decides the specification most?

The traffic, the chemicals and their concentration and temperature, hot wash-downs, sunlight, and how long the area can close.

Is the substrate checked before work starts?
